New additions to the wall 🦢The amazing river mural has a new addition....a swan and her cygnet! 🦢I was on the way from picking up a few bits in the riverhead that had been thrown in, including another life ring (the second time this week 🤦‍♂️). It’s frustrating to see, but being in the area meant that i could drive past this wall of beauty again !I also got to meet the talented artist behind the mural. He even gave me a lesson in butterflies and pointed out that, apparently, I’d got the species completely wrong! Apart from schooling me, he's a thoroughly decent chap 😂While we were there, a lady stopped to tell us how much she appreciated the work and how much it’s brightening up the place.Things like this really do make you feel a little better. Riverhead Tickle… and a few other bits and bobs Mondays are always busy after the weekend, and yesterday was no exception.Firstly, I was collared by Comrade Jennifer to grapple a few bits and pieces out of the river on her patch. A trolley which had lost its way back to the supermarket and a large piece of tarpaulin. She runs a tight ship, so it was important to address these asap.The Boulevard section was being looked after by Maria and Jo (and I’m pretty sure I spotted Arianne down one of the side streets too), which meant I could head straight over to the Riverhead.First job was dealing with the inevitable aftermath of scallywags discovering the life rings and plastic fencing. They’d been having a bit of fun with them, so they needed putting back where they belong.Then it was time for a freshen up around the Riverhead, with Kev and Jo joining me on the banks.It might look like I pulled an enormous amount out, but it’s far less than usual, now that we are getting on top of it. Due to the location, there's always going to be litter, but it's worth mentioning that whilst I would love all the credit, the Cleansing Team of NELC also go out to give this area a tidy, so i can't 🤣Oh and a bit of a bonus, the lovely people at Riverhead Coffee had caught wind of the town centre work I'm doing and kindly offered to keep me supplied with coffee, which suits me ☕ I'm not on anyone's payroll upstream, so if you see me in the Boulevard area, mines black no sugar 😉Thank you to everyone who said hello, including the chap who accused me of flytipping and then realised that I wasn't, but decided to walk off without an apology, which was a bit wild 🤣All waste collected by North East Lincolnshire Council Freshney Comrades CleanerWalks ...
