This lay-by was closed to the public some years ago, but sadly tonnes of litter and debris remained. This has been consistently hazardous to wildlife, so our intervention was important and necessary.
What started out as a murmur from Lyndsey Downes, descended into something epic.
Luckily We Had Help….
We were fortunately joined by local and non local councillors, members of the public, and the The Bearded Birders, for one of the biggest cleans I’ve ever helped orchestrate.
After clearing the debris, we gave back to this small nature corridor with eco friendly bird feeders and even a hedgehog house that the children made. Ellie The Easter Dog PickWalks_GY came along at the end to give out Easter eggs to all involved.
I would like to thank everyone, especially Trevor Croft for mobilising the troops, and Andy for the eggs.
Keep Britain Tidy we pledged 100 bags during the Great British Spring Clean between March 15th and March 31st, and it looks like we smashed that in ONE DAY !
