PLEASE READ & SHARE 🙏Hi everyone!This Saturday at 11am, there’s an open day at the wonderful Green Futures 🌿Me and Martin will be leading a relaxed, 2.5-mile guided nature walk through the beautiful village of Bradley, heading back through the woods and returning to Green Futures. Cleaning up the 'Rec'To be honest, considering the amount of footfall and the fact that it's half term, Sussex recreation ground was in fairly good shape. It did mean however, that we could get into all the nooks and crannies 🙂A litter pick is about clearing rubbish, but what makes it truly sustainable is the connection between people, the inspiration it gives to others, and the positive behaviours it encourages ♻️It's also about connecting with other organisations, highlighting what they do and spreading the word. Strange, beautiful and rare to witness 🐍After yesterday's tree planting and litterpicking escapades, I took my friend Jazz White for a wildlife jaunt and thankfully, it didn't disappoint 😊The highlight had to be a pair of mating Adder, which isn’t something you see every day.We were far too late to see them basking in the sunshine to warm themselves up, so this was unexpected and amazing in equal measure.Other gems included Green and Greater Spotted Woodpecker, a nesting Treecreeper, Grass Snake and Perigrine.I hope you enjoy the photographs.White’s Wildlife Watch Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust ... And that DEFINITELY is a wrap 🌳Today saw us lob the last remaining trees into the ground on our patch 'behind the Roso' in Scartho/Scaffa which saw us plant 30 trees last year in a bid to enhance biodiversity.We were joined by some wonderful people as always, including a couple of the Scartho in Bloom mob who, incidentally planted lots of dwarf Narcissus (small daffs) around the bases of the trees we planted last year. We never knew this, and we are VERY grateful. It's bloomin lovely when two organisations collide 💚Lots of children turned out and grabbed the provided litter pickers to give the park a quick tickle.
