So this morning I took Samuel Miles out on the Freshney for a litter clean, (thats the name of my other canoe) and he’s rather tippy and lightweight.
Not a problem as the work I was doing was going to be light and brief. Unfortunately I stumbled on a blockage and foolishly began dealing with it, leant back too far and that was it… I was in, swimming with the fishes.
Highlighting why it’s extremely important to wear a life vest of some description, especially on heavily silted rivers, and to swim or lie on your back rather than try and stand.
All went according to plan though, and I was on the side in no time. Luckily for me Lilliput Waste Disposal Ltd came round the corner at that very moment and together with Superstar Legend Geoff we got him out.
Thank heavens there are good people about!
