Environmental Award Winner!

Hull Minster

It is the largest parish church in England by floor area. The church dates back to about 1300 and contains what is widely acknowledged to be some of the finest medieval brick-work in the country, particularly in the transepts. The Minster Church is now a Grade I listed building and was the most perfect setting for the BBC Radio Humberside Make A Difference Awards.

The spread was lovely. Together with the warm welcome and entertainment, it eased the nerves of all the nominees and presenters.

The Competition!!!!

Whilst i recognise that i do a good job and that i’m passionate about what work i do, it was quite apparent by the other nominees that i was not on my own. In my category i had a lady that goes out litterpicking each and every weekend, a 10 year old legend that dedicates her spare time to making her area clean, and a beautiful man that rows three hours in his dingy to clear the banks of Spurn Point

The Stars Aligned….

As it happened i ended up the victorious, after the judge (Great British Bake Off Winner and environmentalist) Nancy Birtwhistle saw fit. Everyone in my category was extremely congratulative, but to be honest it was less about winners and losers and more about championing everyone that gave their time to benefit others.
